Here’s my take on Insurgent by Veronica Roth
Insurgent is a 2012 science fiction young adult novel by American novelist Veronica Roth and the second book in the Divergent trilogy . As the sequel to the 2011 bestseller Divergent , it continues the story of Tris Prior and the dystopian post-apocalyptic version of Chicago .
Insurgent was continued right from were it was left in Divergent, without any recap and instead it was refreshing the major evens of the end of the first installment through thoughts and different conversations. This was a better start rather than recap.
There is deep exploration of characters like Tris, Tobias, Caleb and many other from fraction as well as factionless. Italso reveals more about faction systems and what it means
to belong in that particular faction.
We can see a mature relationship between Tris and Tobias, who face each others obstacle as partners ready to do any thing to save each
Rating 4 out of 5
This book ups the romance from a few kisses to make out sessions(using mild language).
The end of the novel was mindblowing leaving us at cliffhanger. Like thrillers, this sequal has a lot of violence, deaths, threats, rebellion, bravery.
Quote- “We both have war inside of us. Sometimes it keeps
us alive, Sometimes it threatens to destroy us.“
